DSG Gearbox
In simple terms, the DSG gearbox could be compared with two separate manual gearboxes contained within one transmission housing. In here a dual-clutch setup (simply two independent clutches) is electronically-hydraulic controlled for fully automatic clutch and shifting operation. By using two different clutches a DSG transmission can achieve faster shifting times compared to a conventional automatic transmission and eliminates the need of a torque converter.
